Earlier today Jon Favreau took to his Instagram account to wish everyone a merry Christmas, and when doing so, he showed a new behind the scenes photo from the set of “The Mandalorian,” which revealed the return of the classic bounty hunter IG-88!
Now we have seen other IG droids in “Star Wars” before like in “The Clone Wars,” but this one sure does look exactly like IG-88, and I have a hard time believing Jon Favreau would share this image and have it not be the classic bounty hunter. Plus this looks to confirm some set reports from Making Star Wars that said this droid has been seen on set, and has been referred to IG-88.
This is very cool, and I’m hoping IG-88 is just the first of other classic bounty hunters we will see in live-action again once “The Mandalorian” premieres!
