Via Film Music Reporter, it has been revealed that composer Alexandre Desplat will be scoring the music for Rouge One, as the composer said in an interview with Radio Classique’s Culture Club that he would be reuniting with director Gareth Edwards for Rogue One.
Alexandre Desplat worked with Gareth Edwards on “Godzilla” last year, and has just recently won an Oscar for his work on the “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” Alexandre Desplat definitely has some big shoes to fill following in the footsteps of John Williams and his legendary “Star Wars” soundtracks, and while we knew it would happen eventually once all these new “Star Wars” projects got announced, it’s still going to be strange to hear some new music in a live action “Star Wars” film not scored by John Williams.
