Early this morning the nominations for this year’s Academy Awards were announced, where we learned that “The Force Awakens” has received five of those Oscar nominations.

Here are the five categories “The Force Awakens” received nominations in, which unfortunately doesn’t include Best Picture:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Best Original Score:

It is a little disappointing that the highest grossing movie ever in North America and one that is critically acclaimed didn’t get one of the Best Picture spots, but hopefully “The Force Awakens” will take home awards in the five categories it was nominated in, which will be very much deserved. But really, it’s just great to have ‘Star Wars” movies as part of the Oscar buzz again!

The 88th Academy Awards will air on Sunday, February 28th.
