Coming on May 13th, 2014, fans will be able to get a look at some great never before seen storyboards from the original trilogy, in a new book called, “Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy.” A cool trailer for the book was released today, along with some details about the content contained in the book:
Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy, edited by Lucasfilm’s J.W. Rinzler, features the storyboards — many never before seen — from all three classic films.
Coming from Abrams Books on May 13, 2014, Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy collects over 1,200 storyboards for the first time ever. As seen in this debut trailer, they were an essential part of the filmmaking process, helping visualize A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi — including the Death Star trench run, the Battle of Hoth, and Luke Skywalker’s final duel with Darth Vader and the Emperor.
Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy features a foreword by Joe Johnston, an introduction by Nilo Rodis-Jamero, and exclusive commentary by Joe Johnston, Nilo Rodis-Jamero, Alex Tavoularis, Paul Huston, and Dave Carson.
