Force Friday 2015 was a huge success in the lead up to the release of “The Force Awakens,” so it should come as a big surprise to expect that Lucasfilm and Disney will continue that tradition again this year for “Rogue One.”
Well according to a report from Jedi News via Star Wars Underworld, it looks like we may have the date of when we can expect the “Rogue One” merchandise to hit store shelves. While at this year’s New York Toy Fair, Jedi News is hearing from three different licenses today that this year’s Force Friday event will take place on September 30th, 2016.

While of course we still have to wait for the official word from Lucasfilm and Disney, it’s probably a safe bet to expect the September 30th date to be accurate, as it just makes perfect sense for them to follow the same strategy that worked so well for “The Force Awakens.” Better start saving now!
