Some interesting bit of rumor news is being reported by the New York Daily News today regarding the young Han Solo “Star Wars Story” film, as they are saying that Disney and Lucasfilm are planning for a trilogy of young Han Solo films with Alden Ehrenreich, as they have signed him to a three picture deal.
Here is how the New York Daily News’s source describes how Disney and Lucasfilm are feeling about the young Han Solo movie, and how they are hoping for more if the first is a success.
“There is a real sense of excitement around the Han Solo movie and its potential. Given that Han’s early adventures do not need to be tied to the Empire, it leaves story lines open with the opportunity to really give fans something different. They can explore new galaxies and crazy creatures and bring in a wide array of new characters.”
“They feel that his character has the right potential to become a central figure in several movies. They’re keeping things under wraps at the moment, but the deal is that he has signed for at least three movies.”
We probably wont be hearing any confirmation about a Han Solo trilogy from Disney and Lucasfilm until the first one comes out, but I imagine the probability of this happening being very likely if the first film is a big success. And while I personally wouldn’t have chosen Han Solo to be the first character to get his own movie trilogy, I am excited for his first standalone film, and if it ends up being a successful new Han Solo story, I wont mind one bit if we got to see more.
