Some sad news to report today, as actor Kenny Baker, the man who brought R2-D2 to life has passed away today at age 81.
Kenny Baker truly gave R2-D2 his soul in the the original and prequel trilogy, and despite being very ill during the “The Force Awakens,” still served as a consultant and was credit for that film as well.
The “Star Wars” family has felt the loss today, and some of them who worked with Kenny Baker over the years took to social media to pay their respects to their fellow “Star Wars” actor:
