Some big casting news has been announced today for the upcoming Han Solo standalone film, as StarWars.com has announced that actor Woody Harrelson (“Cheers,” “True Detective,” “The Hunger Games”) has officially joined the cast!
Here is what Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller had to say about casting Woody Harrelson in the film:
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody.”
“His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
While no announcement on the character Woody Harrelson will be playing, there have been some previous rumors that his role would be that of a mentor figure to Han in his early smuggling days. But regardless of the character he’s playing, the young Han Solo film is definitely putting quite the talented cast together.
