Last night J.J. Abrams was a guest on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” and of course the subject of directing Episode IX came up during the interview, and while obviously J.J. Abrams didn’t reveal any plot details on the film, he did reveal two bits of news items by confirming that they now have a script, and that they will begin shooting Episode IX at the end of July.
You can see J.J. Abrams share this bit of info as well as his full interview with Stephen Colbert in the video below, including more fun “Star Wars” talk:
It’s great to hear that the script for Episode IX is in fact finished, and that we now know when shooting will actually begin on it, which being in July is a little later that I was expecting. But it’s definitely going to be a busy summer for “Star Wars” in 2018 with the release of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” in May, and principle photography beginning on Episode IX in July, and we’ll be here anticipating it all with much excitement!
