While we’re still waiting to find out when and where the next Star Wars Celebration will be held, we do know when another major event that will have a large “Star Wars” presence will be held, and that is Disney’s D23 Expo.
The expo is held every other year, so the next D23 will take place in 2019, from August 23-25. “Star Wars” has been a big part of the D23 Expo since the sequel trilogy began, and I’m sure Episode IX will be no exception. While we’ll definitely have at least a teaser trailer for Episode IX by then, I think it’s a safe bet we’ll be getting a behind-the-scenes video for the film, as well as some cool poster reveals, as that’s what happened for “The Force Awakens” and “The Last Jedi” at the last two D23 Expos.

D23’s sixth Expo follows the success of D23 Expo 2017, which drew tens of thousands of Disney fans for three star-studded days and nights. Guests were treated to appearances by such celebrities as Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Whoopi Goldberg, Jordan Fisher, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Hamill, Kristen Bell, Chris Hemsworth, Mandy Moore, and the stars of Disney’s Descendants. Guests had the chance to take a jump into a life-sized DuckTales money bin; were the first to see a full-scale model of Galaxy’s Edge, the Star Wars-themed land coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts; and were able to enjoy a full-length concert from Disney Legend Alan Menken.
