Principle photography has officially wrapped today on the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.
Director J.J. Abrams took to twitter today to make the announcement that principle photography has wrapped on Episode IX, and even revealed our first look at Rey, Finn, and Poe in the movie by posting a photo of them sharing a hug as production wrapped.
As J.J. said, it is hard to believe that we’re already at the point where filming has wrapped on the final film of the sequel trilogy, but at the same time, just with him sharing this one image of our main heroes is enough to put the excitement level for it in high gear!
A little surprising is that we didn’t get the title announcement as well with this news, as was the case when Episode VII and Episode VIII wrapped principle photography. At this point, I believe that we wont be getting the title announced until Celebration Chicago along with the first teaser, but that’s just my guess, so we shall wait and see.
But until then, we can spend these next two months speculating whether the planet they are on in that photo is Jakku or Tatooine!
