Once Disney officially acquired 20th Century Fox, we knew they were going to have a lot of new movie properties to release in theaters, and today they have officially announced a ton of new release dates for their upcoming films, including three new future “Star Wars” movies.
While no details were revealed about these three new “Star Wars” movies, we now know when we can expect to see some more new “Star Wars” films after “The Rise Of Skywalker,” and it will be a little bit of a wait.
The first of the next three “Star Wars” films will release on December 16th, 2022, with the next two releasing on December 20th, 2024, and December 18th, 2026.
Now the big question we fans have, is just which films are these going to be? With some recent comments by Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy, it’s probably likely that the Benioff and Weiss film is first up with the 2022 release date. But will the next two be a part of their series of films? Or will one of those kick off Rian Johnson’s trilogy?
It will probably be awhile before we find out the exact details, so it’s at least good to know when we can expect to see these new “Star Wars” movies. But in the mean time, we still got a pretty big “Star Wars” film to enjoy this year!
