It’s something that’s been rumored and talked about for so long, but it is now official. We are getting an Obi Wan Kenobi TV series on Disney+, and Ewan McGregor will indeed be back playing the iconic role!
The announcement was made at the Disney+ presentation at D23 tonight, and Kathleen Kennedy was on stage to close out the “Star Wars” portion of the presentation by bringing out Ewan McGregor to finally say he will be playing Obi Wan again!
Also revealed about the show is that all the scripts are finished, it will start shooting next year, and it will take place eight years after “Revenge of the Sith.”
Needless to say, I couldn’t be more excited about this news, and it is immediately already one of my most anticipated “Star Wars” releases. Having Ewan McGregor back as Obi Wan has been a long time coming, whether it was in a movie or TV series, and now that we know for sure that we will be seeing him as Obi Wan again, I couldn’t be a happier “Star Wars” fan right now.
