Lucasfilm has announced today that they have appointed Pattie Burke to head up their new Theme Park division as the Executive Producer. Here is the official announcement from the newly revamped Lucasfilm website:
Patti Burke heads Lucasfilm’s Theme Park division. Her eclectic career spans over 20 years, including time as a production executive at Touchstone Pictures, and later, Head of Production for Walt Disney Imagineering’s Theme Park Productions division. During her tenure, both Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney California Adventure Park (featuring the hit ride Soarin’) were launched.
We’ve heard plenty of rumors about new Star Wars attractions coming to various Disney theme parks for a few months now, but now we at least know who will be in charge of those new theme park projects for Lucasfilm.
