If you thought Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was going to be it for big “Star Wars” attractions coming to Disney Parks, think again!
Also during the Disney Parks panel at D23 today, it was revealed that plans are underway for a full on interactive “Star Wars” themed resort and hotel coming to Walt Disney World.
Here is how Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, describes the new resort, and as well as some concept art of it via Disney Parks Blog:
According to Bob, this revolutionary new vacation experience will be a living adventure that allows guests to immerse themselves in an entirely new form of Disney storytelling.
“It’s unlike anything that exists today.” Bob said. “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”
I wasn’t expecting this kind of announcement today, but this looks and sounds awesome! We can iterally live a few days in a galaxy far, far away now. The only problem I see with this resort is not wanting to leave!
No announced date for when the resort will open just yet, but we will be watching the development of it with great interest!
