Lucasfilm Hires Tony To As Head Of Production & Development


It was announced today that former Walt Disney Studios executive Tony To has now joined Lucasfilm as their new head of production and development. In a report from Variety, they say that Tony To will oversee all live-action and animation projects, as well as overseeing the work being done at ILM and Skywalker Sound. The report from Variety also revealed that Lucasfilm currently has several TV projects in development at various stages. Here are the statements from Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Tony To about this announcement:

“This is such an exciting and creative time at Lucasfilm and I’m overjoyed to have Tony on board. He has unmatched production expertise and a tremendous passion for storytelling. He is a wonderful addition to the fantastic creative team we have in place to develop new content.”

“Lucasfilm has an amazing legacy and an equally amazing future. It is an honor to be a part of such an accomplished and talented team while continuing to work with my esteemed Disney friends and colleagues.”

 

Definitely an exciting announcement for Lucasfilm, and it will be interesting in the future to find out what projects Lucasfilm has in store for us under the leadership of Tony To.
