(Update: Several reports from The Hollywood Reporter and The Guardian are now saying that Harrison Ford will be out for at least 2 months before being able to start shooting again. But the reports also say that production on the movie will continue, with some rescheduling and moving around some scenes to be filmed at different times than originally scheduled.)
Some bad news to report today, as it was learned that Harrison Ford got injured on the Episode VII set today at Pinewood Studios. Here is a statement from Disney about the injury from The Hollywood Reporter:
“Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates,” said a statement from Disney.
A source tells THR that the actor, who reprises his role as Han Solo from the original franchise, was injured by the door of the Millennium Falcon, the spacecraft that his character pilots in the original films. The spaceship looks to be making a return in the sequel.
This is definitely some bad news to hear. Hopefully Harrison Ford is alright and recovers soon. We’ll see if this has any type impact on the shooting for Episode VII.
