(Update: It looks like the YouTube video has been moved to private, but you can still check it out over at Vanity Fair)
Even though he is no longer fully involved with making anymore “Star Wars” movies, I still love hearing George Lucas talk about the films whenever he gets the opportunity to, and he recently had the chance to do so with Vanity Fair.
In the video above, Lucas gives some advice to the new directors working on “Star Wars,” what he hopes doesn’t happen in the new movies, what he’s excited to find out, and why he doesn’t want to direct anymore big movies like “Star Wars.” Plus a special appearance by J.J. Abrams!
It’s always a little sad to hear Lucas talk about why he doesn’t want to direct anymore “Star Wars” films when it’s because of the extreme backlash and sometimes downright hurtful responses to the prequels he got, when he had every right to make them the way he wanted to. But I do love how he picked Jar Jar as his favorite character to give a little jab to the prequel haters!
The video is private.
It looks like Vanity Fair has set the video to private now. You can still check out the video in the link to Vanity Fair that’s in the post.
