Yesterday Lucasfilm held it’s publishing panel at San Diego Comic-Con, and while there wasn’t a ton of new announcements made, there was one big new comic series announced that for anyone who listens to our show will know that hearing about it got us immediately excited!
You can check out the details on that new title below, as well as some of the another announcements made, including cover reveals for some of “The Rise of Skywalker” tie- in books:
The Rise of Kylo Ren:
First up is the biggest announcement made, and that is a new limited comic series titled “The Rise of Kylo Ren” is coming in December, and will be written by Charles Soule, the writer for the absolutely amazing “Darth Vader” series.
“The Rise of Kylo Ren” will be a four part series, and will look to tell the history of how Kylo become the master of the Knights of Ren.
Listeners of our show will know how much we’ve raved about Charles Soule’s Darth Vader series, as well as how we can’t wait to learn more about the history of Kylo and the Knights of Ren, so this is a match made in heaven, and we couldn’t be more excited for it! Well that is just maybe after Charles Soule himself!
Return to Vader’s Castle:
Another new comic announcement made was that another installment of the “Tales From Vader’s Castle” series is coming this Halloween from IDW, and will feature new spooky stories centered around Darth Maul, Asajj Ventress, Jabba the Hutt, Darth Vader, and Grand Moff Tarkin.
Also announced at the panel is that a print version of the previously audio only story “Dooku: Jedi Lost,” will be released this October as well.
That was pretty much it for new announcements made at the panel, but it also revealed the covers for some of the upcoming “The Rise of Skywalker” tie-in books, including the Allegiance comic series that leads into Episode IX, the “Spark of the Resistance” junior novel, and “The Rise of Skywalker Visual Guide,” which features a cool new image of a Knights of Ren on the cover!
